Guitar chord reference
Suspended 2 guitar chord: five CAGED shapes
A suspended 2 chord replaces the 3rd with the 2nd. With no major or minor 3rd, the voicing stays open and unresolved until the suspended tone moves or the harmony changes.
Chord construction and function
The 2nd is the defining tension against the root, while the perfect 5th keeps the chord grounded. Locate the missing 3rd to understand why the quality is neutral.
